I know I have been absent for a few months but my daughter has had ALL of my attention as it should be, I do love beauty and fashion and I love helping people out when it comes to this subject so I don’t want to neglect this blog!
I had gone to platinum blonde earlier this year and it didn’t suit me so I ended up eventually going back to black…for some reason I forgot I was going platinum to do a cotton candy pink, and now here I am attempting to go platinum and eventually pink again.
I couldn’t find a soul with a license to buy me professional hair bleach so I took the amateur route and bought a box at Ulta. It was expensive but I was hoping it would work. I WAS WAY WRONG! It may have been a few factors, perhaps I didn’t have enough bleach and should have bought two boxes, but at that price I could have bought a can of professional bleach! I started by bleaching the ends first since they are they hardest to lighten, and then I moved my way to the middle and then the roots. I let it sit for about 40 minutes and I checked my hair as it progressed, if my roots didn’t turn out white then this bleach does not work. I haven’t dyed my hair in a while so my roots were long enough to notice if they turned white, which they didn’t. my natural color bleaches really easily too
After I washed out the bleach and look in the mirror it was a NIGHTMARE! My roots and the ends of my hair had turned yellow but the rest stayed dark brown(I have used Oops Color Remover to make my hair brown)
It was late and I didnt want to go again to the store so I put the pink hair dye and what I am left with is horrible
I’ve posted a photo of it right after I washed it out, I’m not very careful with colored dye but who cares, sans make-up and all!
I suggest that if you are trying to bleach your hair from black DO NOT USE THIS BOX or actually don’t use any drug store bleach. I never found anyone with a license but a good friend told me you can purchase professional bleach online WITHOUT a license! She suggested Schwarzkopf Professional - IGORA Vario Blond, which I have purchased through amazon.com for only $24(1 lb of it!) Now I play the waiting game until I get it in the mail =/ I know it’ll definitely be worth it though!
And if anyone is curious about Oops Color remover, it’s pretty good, I went from the blackest black to a normal brown which was weird to see 0_0
